Jan Martinek (he/him) is an almost award winning game developer. He keeps making games as Mouflon Cloud since 2022.
So far he made a few games for the yellow handheld with a crank, called Playdate. Outside of game dev, he has a background in web development and social sciences.
Games
Kye
Kye is a faithful remake of an old Windows 3.1 game. It is a puzzle action game with some elements inspired by Sokoban, Boulder Dash and Pac-Man. The port adds some quality of life improvements — such as rewind and undo, easier navigation.
Be Kind To Yourself
Be Kind To Yourself is a brutal puzzle arcade game. It feels like a shmup but plays like a falling block puzzle game. Players need to carefully craft groups of hyperstones to send off to the delta dimension to get a good score and manage the speed of the game by breaking their combos.
Gotta Bounce
Gotta Bounce is a crank- and story-driven sidescroller with ambitions of becoming a good game to speedrun. It’s a platformer without jumping.
Stars of the Screen
Stars of the Screen is an interactive screensaver exhibit with hidden objectives. Each screensaver can be appreciated for the screensaver it is, played with using varying inputs of the playdate, and treated as a mini escape room style puzzle to get a “secret” resolution. It’s about aesthetic and curiously prodding things!
